She carries private celebrations, corporate gatherings, and quiet evenings for ten to a hundred and fifty guests, moving through Cairo, on the river that built a civilization.
Shemu is the ancient Egyptian season of harvest, when the river drew back and the year's work came in. We take the name because that is what we mean to revive: a relationship with the Nile that was once central to life here, and deserves to be again.

Trip duration and timing
The vessel departs within thirty minutes of the booked start time. Please plan arrivals accordingly.
If any guests are expected to arrive after departure or wish to leave before the boat returns, we recommend adding a Speed Boat service to allow flexible arrivals and departures during the experience.
An additional hour can be requested up to forty-eight hours before the event. We will accept or decline based on the day's schedule, and will confirm either way.

Speedboat transfers
Recommended if guests will arrive after the vessel has departed, or need to leave before she returns to the mooring.
Charged at 3,000 EGP per hour.

Reservation and payment
A 50% down payment confirms the booking. The date is not held until it is received.
The remaining balance is due no later than two days before the event.

Guest numbers
At Shemu, we’re delighted to host gatherings of all sizes, from intimate dinners to lively celebrations.
Our indoor dining comfortably welcomes up to 50 guests.
For a blend of indoor and outdoor dining, we can accommodate up to 70 guests.
For a cocktail-style reception, Shemu can host a maximum of 150 guests.
We’re happy to tailor your setup to ensure every guest enjoys the full Shemu experience.
Children
Children are welcome and must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times aboard.
Bad weather
In case of official weather warnings or restrictions (e.g., high winds or unsafe sailing conditions), Shemu reserves the right to comply with maritime safety regulations.
Under such conditions, the boat may not sail until it is officially deemed safe.
Alternative arrangements or rescheduling options will be discussed based on the situation.
Permits and approvals
All required permits must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the event.
Drones, live entertainment and special activities need advance approval from both Shemu and the relevant authorities. Please raise these early; some cannot be arranged at short notice.
Conduct, alcohol and prohibited substances
Guests are personally responsible for their behavior at all times.
The use or possession of illegal substances is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the Public Morality Police as per Egyptian law.
